Honeymoon Travels hosts six newly married couples as they embark on their Honeymoon voyages. While on board, these newlywed couples from various socio-economic strata discover more about each other as well as themselves during this adventure.
Ranvir Shorey stars as Ranvir, the Gujju newlywed who must contend with his eccentric wife while trying to impress her with his Urdu poetry. Dia Mirza makes for an especially adorable supporting player as her signature ekdum thanda act makes her even cuter than ever!
Similar to its Parsi counterpart, the romance between Arjun Rampal and Shilpa is captivating to watch; Pinky provides the ideal counterpoint to Vicky who has fallen for Aman but finds herself struggling against being taken advantage of by him. Unfortunately, however, its fun begins to dissipate as the movie progresses.
Honeymoon Travels challenges many misconceptions about marriage and relationships. The film centers more around the intimate relationships among couples than on any romantic spark between lead actors. Furthermore, this film serves to celebrate friendship.
Reema Kagti’s approach to comedy is commendable and she doesn’t overdo the humor, with strong performances by all cast members and an outstanding climax that won’t let audiences down. Unfortunately, one flaw marring this effort is its over-long run time; perhaps 15 minutes would have sufficed – still, Honeymoon Travels is worth checking out 4.5/5 stars
