Lung Cancer

Lung cancer is still killing more people than any other cancers combined. In the US alone, at least 131,880 people die from lung cancer each year. And there are two types of lung cancer that kill people: small cell lung cancer and non-small cell lung cancer, which is more common than small cells cancer.

Before a doctor can prescribe any treatment, they need to run tests to see if you don’t have any change in your genes. Once that has been established, your doctor can proceed to prescribe one of the treatments below:

Surgery

Oncologists will cut out cancer tissue from your lung to prevent it from spreading.

Chemotherapy

This treatment is often used together with surgery to shrink or kill any remaining cancer.

Radiation therapy

Your doctor may decide to use high-energy rays (which look like X-rays) to kill cancer.

Targeted therapy

With this treatment, your doctor will use drugs to block the growth and spread of cancer cells. Before you can start with targeted therapy, you will get tests to see if your body is strong enough to handle potent drugs.

There are cancer treatment centers that offer a myriad of treatments for lung cancer patients. If you are in Orange County, type “lung cancer treatment Orange county ” on Google and choose a center that will be best for you.
