The Grocery People – Kamloops, Calgary, Saskatoon, and Edmonton

The Grocery People is a Canadian based wholesale grocery delivery service with locations in Kamloops, BC, Calgary and Saskatoon. They offer a range of services from warehouse markets to the standard stuff. Their newest venture is a new concept in the form of a wholesale market in Edmonton. This 56,000 square foot building is the first of its kind in Canada. It has four loading doors, a 13′ – 17′ ceiling, and is situated on a single tenant industrial investment property with a NNN lease.

In addition to delivering fresh groceries to Western Canadian consumers, they also provide support to their family-owned retail store partners with a wide array of services. For example, the Grocery People has two small community-based grocery stores in High Level, Alta. and Lloydminster, Alta. These establishments offer the aforementioned snooze-worthy-moments, if you’re looking to spend less on your grocery bill, they’ve got you covered.

The Grocery People’s most recent venture is TGP Wholesale Market in Edmonton. This high-tech warehousing facility features state-of-the-art automated storage and retrieval systems that allow for streamlined inventory control. What’s more, the site is a model for similar locations in Western Canada. A large selection of foodservice products are available, including bulk items and food prep items. Besides food, you can also purchase household and gardening products, as well as the latest in electronics and clothing.

The Grocery People has been around for more than 55 years and is proud to be a part of the larger Federated Co-op Limited, a Saskatchewan based company with more than 9 million consumers in 620 communities across Western Canada. In addition to their own stores and distribution centres, they supply produce to more than 200 affiliate and foodservice operations across the country. As of December 2015, the company had sales of $9.5 billion, making it one of the largest independent suppliers in the industry.
