It is well-known that drivers who text while driving are much more likely to be in an accident than those who don’t. Teenagers are more at risk from texting while driving because they have less experience behind a wheel. Distracted driving results in more crashes and fatalities, because distracted drivers do not have the appropriate driving skills. Texting while driving also decreases the driver’s ability to direct his or her attention on the road, react to traffic events, and maintain control of the vehicle.
