Jalon Peoples Is a Great Addition to the Kansas Football Team
Jalon Peoples is a top three cornerback prospect in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. He is a hard-hitting corner who will lock down opposing players. In addition, he is a ballhawk. His speed makes him a difficult matchup for wide receivers.
Jalon is a product of Cedar Hill High School. He is ranked as a three-star prospect by Rivals, and he is rated as the 48th best cornerback in the country. After playing in a game against Baylor in June, Jalon visited Kansas and made his nonbinding commitment to the Jayhawks. Aside from the visit, he had offers from Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Baylor and Texas, and he narrowed his list to five schools.
Having just finished his junior year, Peoples has already amassed four interceptions. In addition, he has 12 tackles this season. This combines with his strong playmaking ability to make him a solid recruit. As a result, he is ranked as a borderline four-star prospect by Rivals. With 30 offers, it is clear that he is a highly coveted player. However, his interest is important for Kansas, and the role he plays in the program should not be taken for granted.
While his name may not be very familiar, Peoples is a solid talent to add to the Kansas football roster. It is not surprising to see him take interest in the Jayhawks, considering his brother Dimitri is currently attending Texas Tech, and his uncles Justin Evans and Richard Moore have played collegiately.
