Contemporary Research Encoder
Encoders are used to transform input video signals into coded data for transmission over a network. They are also used in IPTV. The process of encoding and decoding the incoming video signals involves a process called modulation. Some encoders package video data to be transmitted over an HD RF channel while others package it for transport via Ethernet.
Contemporary Research’s dual-channel HDTV moderator and IPTV encoder, the QMOD-HDMI 2, is available. It can accept two HDMI inputs that are not encrypted and outputs two HD programs on one channel. Closed captioning is also possible. The unit also features a front panel for user control. It also supports a variety of input formats and is available in single or dual-rack versions.
