Travelers Inn – Alexandria MN
Travelers Inn Alexandria MN has been serving up classic American fare since 1925 in downtown Alexandria. Once a small kitchen eatery, it has grown into the bustling brunch destination it is today.
Travelers Inn has been a beloved Alexandria institution for almost 100 years. It underwent several renovations and additions over the years, including an extensive remodel in 1996 which integrated its original 1924 building with modern elements.
Travelers Inn offers more than just a great dining experience. It boasts an array of amenities like its complimentary breakfast buffet, terrace, dry cleaning/laundry services and sauna for added relaxation.
Jon Sieve, a third-generation businessman, has been running this iconic restaurant since 1972. He recently passed the torch to his son Patrick who was born in 2000 and graduated from Alexandria High School in 2021.
Patrick began working at the restaurant with his four siblings – Chris, Danny, Matthew and AJ – when he was 12. At 12 years old he started bussing tables and washing dishes at the restaurant.
One of the most rewarding aspects of being in hospitality is witnessing people’s reactions when presented with something new and unique. That is why Chef Robert likes to experiment with different menu items each year, keeping some classic favorites while branching out with more innovative offerings.
Travelers Inn’s most beloved items on the menu include avocado benedict and caramel roll, both signature dishes. Other top choices include ribeye steak and shrimp & grits.
Travelers Inn offers a full bar and online ordering, so those who enjoy their food and drinks can take them home to share with friends and family.
