SFA Early Childhood Research Center
The SFA early childhood research center is located in the school of human sciences at SFA University. It is directed by Dr. Lynda Martin. Other staff members include Dr. Elizabeth Vaughan, assistant chair of elementary education, and Dr. Carolyn Abel, professor of elementary education.
The Early Childhood Research Center integrates research and teaching to improve quality of life for young children in rural East Texas. It provides research on teaching practices, teacher preparation, retention, and long-term effects of educational models. The center also supports academic programs at SFA and provides services to area school districts and community agencies.
