Fortuna Open Door Clinic
Fortuna Open Door Community Health Center was established in 1971 as a single clinic. It has grown to include 13 locations in Humboldt or Del Norte counties and serves more than 55,000 patients annually. 600 people are employed by the center. The organization has been supported by the Vesper Society, which opened a new 32,000 square foot community health center in Fortuna in 2016. The new medical facility was a great way to recruit local healthcare providers and improve the quality life for the community.
This community health center has 32 exam rooms and three medical teams, each consisting of a medical provider and a registered nurse. The teams also consist of a behavioral health navigator and a care coordinator. The facility also boasts seven dental operatorsies and three behavioral healthcare rooms. When fully staffed, it can accommodate up to 180 patients per hour.
