Kylian Mbappe Out of Champions League Final
Kylian Mbappe was dealt a setback on Monday in his bid to lead Paris Saint-Germain into their inaugural Champions League final this century when he sustained an injury before the return leg against Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu. Reportedly experiencing a shock on his left foot while training, Kylian was taken off immediately for treatment before initial medical exams were conducted and assessed again by club representatives later that afternoon – though initial results have since proven positive and he will undergo another assessment session on Tuesday.
Christophe Galtier of Paris St-Germain confirmed Kylian Mbappe’s injury on Tuesday morning and stated: ‘Kylian will undergo a clinical exam on Tuesday morning to asses his availability for Wednesday’s match back at Bernabeu (catch all the action live on Paramount+).’ This injury sent alarm bells ringing at their Qatar-owned club, who have been eliminated in four out of the past six seasons after last 16 losses by Madrid – due in large part to fractured metatarsals like those experienced by star player Neymar who missed both 2018 defeat and final due to another similar problem caused by Madrid players that saw them eliminated once more this time round – prompting concerns at PSG who haven’t got their own players for final matches against Madrid!
French Ligue 1 giants have not ruled out selling star forward Kylian Mbappe when his contract expires next summer, though Real Madrid president Florentino Perez wants him for himself and to usher in a new Galacticos era at Bernabeu. Mbappe won World Cup gold with France this year and had been heavily linked with Madrid prior to 2018-19 season but made clear he wants to stay put and see out his contract at Lyon.
Although Mbappe was injured during their weekend defeat against OGC Nice, his presence will travel with the squad for this game. Additionally, they will benefit from Eder Militao and Antonio Rudiger returning to defend. They missed this weekend’s defeat due to injury but will both join their teammates for this contest.
Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos remains doubtful due to an ankle injury and could miss their match against Alaves this Saturday. Los Blancos have already suffered significant setbacks with key players like Gareth Bale and Benzema currently out due to injuries; however Real have plenty of talent that could step in for Kroos at Bernabeu Stadium.
