Italian Peoples Bakery is an excellent choice if you’re looking for great quality bread at an affordable price. This bakery has three locations in the tri-state area. The menu boasts of a variety of items to please your taste buds. If you’re in the mood for Italian food, you’ll find that IPB has everything from traditional spaghetti and meatballs to grilled meats, fresh salads, and homemade desserts.

You should also try their signature sesame twist bread. IPB also has a great selection of specialty cakes and cookies. There is a good chance you’ll have to stand in line for hours at a time on Thanksgiving or Christmas. But if you’re in a hurry, you can order takeout. Likewise, you can order delivery or dine in, depending on how much you want to spend.

It’s no wonder this bakery has been around for so long. Pasquale Gervasio started his company in 1936, and he stowed away on a boat from Italy. He eventually opened a small bakery in Trenton. Despite its humble beginnings, the business has grown and expanded into other towns in the tri-state region. In fact, the Italian Peoples Bakery has been open for 80 years.

While it is no longer at its current location, the old-timer is still running strong. Several locations in the area are operated by wholesale franchises, and one location is run by the family behind the business. However, it is still possible to enjoy fresh bread and a hot lunch at IPB’s Chambersburg location. With all of its successes, it’s no wonder that it is a popular stop for locals and out of town visitors alike.

One of the most impressive things about this business is that it is a family owned operation. For instance, Matt Guagliardo, the current manager of the chambersburg bakery, grew up helping his parents make their famous rye bread. His love of baking has never waned. Indeed, he began working at the bakery when he was just 12 years of age. Since then, he has managed the business for fourteen years. Aside from baking, Matthew’s other responsibilities include ensuring that the newest and oldest of the bakery’s four locations remain in tip top shape.

Although you may not be able to snag a table at the original Italian Peoples Bakery in Trenton, New Jersey, you can always pick up their products at a nearby deli or restaurant, or have them delivered directly to your doorstep.
