Reese was a long-standing Philadelphia sportscaster and newscaster. Before he began his broadcasting career, he served as a backup for the late Charlie Swift, the play-by-play announcer for the Philadelphia Eagles. After Swift’s suicide on December 7, 1977, Reese was assigned to do color commentary on games and eventually became the play-by-play voice of the Eagles.
