How Long to Beat Octopath Traveler 2?
If you’ve been waiting to play Octopath Traveler 2 for some time or recently got it in your hands, the likely question on your mind is how long it’ll take you to beat the game. JRPGs often feature lengthy storylines which could take hours to finish; this is especially true of Square Enix’s latest venture.
Octopath Traveler is an RPG game with classic RPG elements, but it also receives a modern upgrade with high-definition graphics and particle effects. While its characters still sport the classic sprites we’ve come to expect from this genre, they live in what appears to be designed for pop-up storybooks.
Octopath Traveler stands out in its battle system. In addition to the traditional attack and spell mechanics found in JRPGs, there’s a unique feature called “Boost.” This empowers your character’s attacks and spells so they can deal more damage and hit their enemies harder than usual.
The Boost system in this game is straightforward, yet it drastically alters how you fight. Each time your character activates an attack or casts a spell, they will earn a Boost Point which can then be used to power up subsequent actions. Utilizing these points regularly will significantly boost your character’s attacks and spells’ power; so be sure to utilize them whenever possible!
You can use them to boost your damage output or heal yourself, depending on what objectives you have set for each encounter. The Boost system is an effective way to keep characters fresh and engaging in battle, providing a unique twist that normal turn-based battles wouldn’t provide.
As you progress through the game, you’ll come across various NPC bosses. One of these is “old man” at Emberglow; this battle can be quite challenging to defeat; to do so, you need the correct rank and level for whatever power type you are using.
Another essential consideration in battle is your enemy’s weaknesses. Most RPGs feature enemies with varying amounts of vulnerability to various weapon types or magic spells, and Octopath Traveler makes this easy by having each enemy have their own special type of weakness visible on-screen via its icon – this indicates their vulnerability to that particular weapon or spell as well as how many times you must hit them with it in order to break their resistance.
As you progress through the game, you’ll come across dungeons that require multiple Boost Points to defeat. So be sure to stock up and use them wisely! These dungeons are not necessary for completion of the game but may give you extra experience points and unlock new weapons or items.
