A recent survey found that almost half of Americans (34%) felt they had too much debt. Another 41% of adults who have some college education reported feeling overwhelmed by debt. Both college-educated Americans as well as non-college-educated Americans are having trouble managing their cash flow. 19.9% of both reported difficulty making ends meet. Nearly half of American households don’t have a three month emergency fund that would cover their essential expenses for three consecutive months.
The Pew survey found that while most Americans are aware of race-related issues, they do not understand the symptoms of racism. 60 percent of Americans believe white supremacists pose a threat to the United States. However, there is not universal agreement on the issue of race and racism. 85 percent of white adults think that race should not be used in college admissions decisions, while only 29% agree with this statement.
Despite its messy history, the study suggests that Americans are genetically similar to each other. The average African-American genome contains nearly a quarter of European genes, while a quarter of white Americans carry Native American ancestry. The average Latino genome has 65 percent European ancestry. This is mainly from the Iberian Peninsula. However, only 6.2% of Native American DNA exists.

While five-six percent of Americans think that the length of a pregnancy should matter in whether or not it is legal, 19 percent say that abortion should be legal in every situation. More than half of those who support legalizing abortion believe that timing should be considered. So, it seems that more women than men are embracing the pro-life movement, but not recognizing the pitfalls it poses.
This problem is widespread in our country. The Institute for Advancement of the American Legal System (IAAL) and The Hague Institute for Innovation of Law report that more than 30% of the country’s population have faced a legal problem within the last four years. Only 49% of these cases were successfully resolved. Moreover, no income, race, or age group has a significantly lower percentage of legal problems. The report concludes that more then half of legal problems are unfair or unjust.

Researchers say that social isolation is more closely linked to the development of Alzheimer’s disease, as is the case with most people.
